Teenager from Cumbria wins in £100m Euromillions Jackpot

Ianthe Fullagar and her mum, Zoe celebrating their win on the Euromillions £100m draw.

A Cumbrian student was bitten on the bottom by her dog as she screamed in delight at winning £7 million on the EuroMillions lottery.

Ianthe Fullagar, 18, of Ravenglass, learned she had won £7,055.142.10 as she watched TV on Friday night to check the numbers on her lucky dip ticket in the £100m Euromillions lottery draw.

She said: “At first I thought I had matched three numbers so I couldn’t believe it when I realised I had five main numbers plus one Lucky Star.

“My mum called the national lottery line and it was only then that I realised I had won a share of the jackpot.

“We were both screaming so loudly that my dog Brock did not know what was happening and bit me on the bottom!

“After waking up everyone in the house, checking the numbers over and over again we drank some Prosecco to celebrate. I then called my boyfriend Sam.

“I didn’t know what to do with my ticket so after hiding it in my bra and jewellery box, I settled for my gym bag until it was confirmed I was a winner.”

Until recently Miss Fullagar was studying for her A levels at The King’s School in Peterborough, achieving an A in English, a B in biology and two Cs in mathematics. She moved to Cumbria to live with her grandparents, Ivor, 73, and Joy, 72, only a month ago.

She has already treated her siblings — two sisters, aged 16 and 5, and a brother, aged 4, to a trip to Toys ‘R’ Us and is planning a holiday to Egypt.

A Camelot spokesman said: “This girl’s win is very exciting. She’s just done her A-levels and this will surely change her life.

“At 18 she’s the youngest Euro Millions winner.”

Ianthe was among 15 winners sharing the Euromillions jackpot of about £100million.

Each will receive £7million for matching all five numbers and one Lucky Star after no one had all the numbers and two Lucky Stars.  (Euromillions Prize Breakdown)

Winning Euromillions numbers were 14, 29, 31, 33 and 37 while Lucky Stars were 01 and 02
